ACTH Fragment Analog
MISSION CRITICAL: For in vitro laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use. Not evaluated by the FDA. Must be 21+.
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) fragment 4-10 with modifications. With the molecular formula C₃₇H₅₁N₉O₁₀ and a molecular weight of 812.9 g/mol (CAS: 80714-61-0), Semax consists of the sequence Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro with an N-terminal proline and C-terminal glycine-proline added.
Pro-Gly-Pro-Glu-His-Phe-MetSemax increases brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression and activates TrkB receptors in neuronal cultures (PMID: 16445185).
Research demonstrates Semax modulates expression of genes involved in neuroplasticity and neurotrophic factor production (PMID: 18841466).
Ashmarin et al. (2006) investigated Semax's effects on BDNF expression and TrkB receptor activation in neuronal cell cultures (PMID: 16445185).
